1/2 block tofu
1/2 red pepper
1/2 red onion
2 cloves garlic
1/2 – 1 red chilli
2 tbsp total ketchup and chilli sauce
2 tsp soy sauce
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 cup water
noodles to serve (or rice)

Instructions

  1. Slice the pepper and onion and fry gently in oil until softened.
  2. Add the garlic and chilli for a few minutes.
  3. Add the water tomato ketchup, chilli sauce, sugar, soy sauce and tofu. Top up with extra water to make a runny sauce that will thicken in the pan.
  4. Cook for a good 10 minutes so that the tofu sucks up all the sauce.
  5. If using noodles add to the pan until cooked, or serve with rice.

Key Tip

Allow enough time for the tofu to absorbs the sauce and for the sauce to thicken.
